Orrin Sessions

Orrin Sessions passed away on December 18, 2022. He and his wife Kathie (Jones) Sessions, were married for over 58 years. They have two sons, David (Durango CO) and Chris (Asheville, NC), and six grandchildren. He was a loving and much-beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Orrin and Kathie moved to Fort Wayne in 1965, where he served as the Assistant Director of the Allen County Plan Commission. Shortly after leaving the Plan Commission, he established his own land planning company, Emanco Inc, and multiple real estate development companies. His planning was involved in over 100 communities and 10,000 lots in Allen County. He was the master planner for many other development companies beyond just his own.

Orrin was an avid hunter, fisherman, downhill skier, and hiker. He and his wife loved traveling to all parts of the world and hiking the countryside.

Orrin served as President of several Fort Wayne organizations, including the Homebuilders Association of Fort Wayne, Aboite Township Park Board, Fort Wayne Business Forum, and the Allen County Historical Society. He was also involved in the Boys and Girls Club, Fort Wayne Rotary, and the Residential Council of the Urban Land Institute. Orrin was the Thrice Potent Master of the Lodge of Perfection, and a recipient of Thirty Third Degree of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Chapel.

His foresight and vision will have a lasting impact on our community.

Orrin and I grew up together across the street from each other and have had an enduring friendship through the years. Visited he and Kathie several times over the years to enjoy the friendship and the Indy 500 and Formula One races. Orrin was a very successful, compassionate and sincere person. I will miss our phone and email exchanges. My condolences go out to Kathie and his two boys and their families. Farewell Orrin!

I remember Orrin through school, but I never knew him as well as I would have liked. He seemed very much a guy who gets stuff done. He had a memorable and helpful life. In my mind I see him still a kid. He will be missed by many. Sincerely, Judee Stanley
