About ten years ago Alan went in for minor surgery on his foot. Unfortunately, the surgery was botched and Alan developed a condition called RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome). Some RSD symptoms are burning pain, increased skin sensitivity to touch and even motor disability, with decreased ability to move affected body part. As a result, Alan was unable to work because of the condition. I remember his email address was RSD badfoot at the time.

Then a few years ago Alan was diagnosed with COPD (Chronic Obstrutive Pulmonary Disease) which is a progressive lung disease characterized by increasing breathlessness. In 2015 he had a follow up exam which revealed his condition had advanced to pulmonary fibrosis a more sever form lung disease.

So, Alan had pretty difficult time over the last few years.

REST IN PEACE OLD FRIEND.
