Obituary - David Verl Roberts

Dr. David V. Roberts Dr. David Verl Roberts, 57 years old, peacefully passed away in his sleep February 20, 2001. He was born September 24, 1943 in Ogden, Utah. He was the eldest son of Richard Drager Roberts and Eve Hilton Roberts. He graduated from Ogden High School. On November 22, 1961, he married Karen Hartog. To this union three daughters were born, Belinda, Kimberly and Caroline. After attaining Dental and Orthodontic Degrees from Saint Louis University and the University of Nebraska, he returned to the Salt Lake Valley and established a orthodontics practice for over 25 years. He was an avid outdoorsman. Many of his favorite times were spent fishing the Green River and duck hunting at the Harrison Duck Club. Being an advocate of the outdoors he volunteered much of his life to Ducks Unlimited, where he served as Utah State Chairman. He was an appreciator of a good cookbook, a piece of art, spoiling his grandkids, a porch with a view, Sunday breakfasts with family, and swapping favorite novels. You were better for knowing him. He is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Belinda Heersink (Phil); Kimberly Morrill (Gary); and Caroline Hammer (Andy); his wife, Romy Williams-Roberts, Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Alec, Connor, Olivia and Megan; brother, Dr. John H. Roberts. In respect to his wishes, his remains will be cremated. A visitation service was held at Goff Mortuary. A memorial funeral service was held at the Cottonwood Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
