Obituary - Joseph L. Wright

Joseph L. Wright

Joseph L. Wright, 56, passed away at his brother's home June 4th, 2000, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of Lillian Ferro and Welbourne A. Wright, of Ogden.

He attended Ogden City Schools, and graduated from Ogden High School in 1961. In 1963 he joined the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Ord, CA.

Joseph married Karen Arnold in 1965, they later divorced in 1971. He was employed at Hill Air Force Base from 1965 to 1982 as a photo equipment repairer. Joseph loved fishing and taking trips to Wendover with his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lillian and Welbourne Wright of Ogden.

Surviving are Joseph's brothers and sisters, William A. and Erika Wright of Morgan; Stephen P. and Lita Wright of Roy; MaryBelle Chavez of Layton; Annette Walcher of Ogden; David Wright of Ogden; Teresa and Mark Dellamore of Roy; John and Becky Wright of Ogden; Kathy and Bart Hyden of Riverdale. Joe also has numerous nephews and nieces that loved him.

A special thank you to his brother John, Becky and family, who have cared for him for the past year unconditionally. Also Hospice for all their help and support to the family.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, Jun 7, 2000 at 1 p.m. at Ogden City Cemetery. Services under the direction of Myers Mortuary in Ogden.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Salvation Army or St. Anne's Mission in Ogden.

 

Note from Garth: Joe was one of my closest childhood friends. His brother, Steve, is married to our classmate Lita Chavez. His wife, Karen Arnold was also our classmate.
