Obituary - Ronald Ames

Ronald A. Ames October 12, 1942 - June 4, 2010

Ronald A. Ames passed away on June 4, 2010 in Grand Junction, CO. Ron was born on October 12, 1942 in Salt Lake City, UT to William Cecil and Harriett Lenci (Perkes) Ames. He spent his childhood in Ogden, UT, graduating from the local high school. He attended Weber State College in Ogden, UT. He served in the Navy and Air Force. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Elks Lodge and the NRA. Ron had previously lived in Utah, New Hampshire, and Ohio, but had been a Grand Junction resident for the last 11 years. Ron's interests included HAM radios, photography, fishing and country music, which he loved. He was a "whole hearted patriot". Ron is survived by his mother, Harriett Lena Perkes of Utah; son, Ronald Scott Ames of Utah; daughters, Tamera Michelle Ames of Utah; Teresa Lynn Palmer, Kimberly Jean Austin, Heather Mathews, Brittany Ames, Tiffany Ames, all of Reno, NV; brother, William Samuel Ames; sisters, RoLayne Marriott, Colleen Wood, and Merry Ann Bates, all of Utah, and eight grandchildren. Services were held with military honors.
