Obituary - Diane Driggs

Diane Driggs Rich 1943 - 2008

St George, UT - On Thursday Diane passed peacefully thru the veil. She was finally released from her earthly body, which had been ravaged by Multiple Sclerosis. She had the opportunity to visit with her entire family prior to passing, but she waited until they were all gone, to go home. She always put her children ahead of her own comfort.

Diane was born in Brigham City, UT. She was the oldest of three children born to Jack and Rhoda Driggs. She graduated from Ogden High School in Ogden, UT. She married Kent Moyes, they had seven children and were later divorced. On March 20, 1992 she married John Rich; they were later sealed in the Jordan River Temple.

Diane was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was the central focus of her life. She served in many capacities over the years, but her main focus was always on compassionate service. She loved taking care of others. It was difficult for her to accept receiving this service, as her disease progressed. She was always an incredible mother, combining nurturing, love and tough love when necessary. Diane was a great example to everyone. She demonstrated that even if your body doesn’t work, you can still be positive, graceful and beautiful. She touched the hearts of all that met her. She was an angel that everyone loved to be around. Her positive attitude was a great example to all that met her.

Diane and John were called and served a Mission in the North East. This was cut short because of her health, but those six months were the highlight of her life.

Diane we will all miss you. You have set the bar very high for all of us.

Surviving are her husband, John Rich; seven children, Mike Moyes (Kim), Greg Moyes (Leah) serving in Iraq, Michelle Monroe (Kirk), Kathy Wieland (John), Lisa Soderborg (Jon), Chris Mascarenaz (Jason), Brian Moyes; and 18 grandchildren.

She also leaves behind one brother, Richard Driggs (Lynne); and one sister, Debby Driggs. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved Aunt Grace.

Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Green Valley Stake Center, 511 South Valley View Drive, St. George, UT.

Interment took place in the Tonaquint Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National M/S society.
