11/27/1942 - 1/13/2004

OGDEN - Helen Rothey, one of the kind and gentle people of the earth, returned home to God who gave her life. Our wife and mother passed peacefully through the veil into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and the joyful embraces of anxious ancestors who have awaited her return.

Kind were her words and gentle were her ways, always seeing the good in every person and situation. She prepared her family for her departure through her life she led and gracious words she spoke. She passed through this life and from this life without enemies.

She is survived by her loving sweetheart and husband of 40 years, Thom Rothey; her five children: Heather (Shane) Lyon, Chris (Kelly) Rothey, Amy (John) Warner, Laura (Whit) Church and Anne (Jess) Dalton; her dear mother, Janet Stokes Wood; her siblings, Howard (Bud) Stokes, Jerry Stokes and Carolyn Aldrich; and her ten grandchildren: Tanner, Caden, Matthew, Sam and Ellie Lyon, Chase Rothey, Johnny and Samantha Warner, and Elias and Brooke Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Alfred Stokes.

Helen and her family wish to express their thanks to Utah Cancer Specialists, Dr. Anna Beck and her loving staff, the wonderful staff of McKay-Dee Hospital, and IHC Hospice for their loving assistance and support through her long struggle with pancreatic cancer. God bless you all.

To all her family and friends she bids you thanks and a fond farewell. "Enjoy the dash through life!" she said.

A viewing was held at the Shadow Valley Ward (Shadow Valley Drive) on Friday, January 16, 2004.

Interment in the Ogden City Cemetery.

Funeral services were under the director of Myers Mortuary in Ogden.
