Obituary - Carolyn Sue Peterson

Carolyn Sue Peterson Woodbury

SOUTH WEBER - Carolyn Sue Peterson Woodbury, 63, precious wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away Saturday, September 30, 2006 at her home after a four year battle with cancer.

She was born June 1, 1943 in Ogden, UT to Elwood Peterson and Lottie Seegmiller Peterson. She was raised and educated in Ogden. She graduated from Ogden High School and Weber State College.

Sue married Sidney Waters August 12, 1969, they later divorced. She married David S. Woodbury June 11, 1982 in the Ogden Temple. They raised three wonderful children together.

Sue was an educator and coach with a remarkable ability to teach and reach her students and athletes. She taught at Wahlquist Jr. High, Payson High School and 27 years at Weber High School. She taught Physical Education, Health, Psychology, Sports Psychology and A.P. Psychology. Sue was never happier than when teaching psychology and coaching girl's track and cross-country and at family BBQ's.

Sue was an active member of the LDS church, currently the South Weber 4th Ward. She held many positions: librarian, Young Women's leader and Relief Society President. She loved the people.

Sue loved tennis, church novels, the temple, her family and mowing the lawn.

Surviving are her loving, devoted husband David; her children, Ryan Waters, Mantua, UT; Jaime Wimmer (Justin), Ogden, UT; and Ashley Woodbury, South Weber, UT. She has five grandchildren; Braxton and Bryson Waters, North Ogden, UT; and Lyric, Crew and Ari Wimmer, Ogden, UT. She is also survived by her brother Gerald Peterson, Hooper, UT; and two sisters, Sandra Wright, Ft. Collins, CO; and Debra Cain, Orem, UT.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Elwood and Lottie Peterson.

Sue, we will miss your smiling face, loving concern and always-positive attitude!

Funeral services were held on Friday, October 6, 2006 at 12 p.m. at the South Weber 4th Ward, South Weber, UT.

Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park.
