Update on the 50th Reunion

A delayed acknowledgment letter dated August 2024 to all Classmates from Gene Newman, 50th Reunion Chair

As chairman of the 50th Reunion committee, I feel I failed to properly thank some of those who helped pull off the best reunion of any high school I have ever heard of.  I think Bill Wade especially felt under-acknowledged for his and our late friend Mike Anderson's contribution to the finding committee. They were largely responsible for the terrific turnout that we had. Thank you, Bill.

And to other members of the committee; making happen the golf outing, picnic in the park, the bowling breakfast, the sock hop at the high school (Wow, we will always remember our late friend Bill Tribe's contribution as  Wolfman Jack) and the Saturday-night dinner committee and the entertainment committee.  Also, the trumpet trio with classmate Brent Clark's brother, who is  my brother-in-law, Leon Clark, spearheading that excitement.  Thank you so much, all of you, for going beyond my expectations.

In February we had our first planning meeting dinner at my house with only six attending. From then until the reunion in August we had a planning meeting dinner at someone's house every month.  As I asked people to chair certain events and they found helpers, our committee grew in number to twenty people.  (I enjoyed the planning dinners as much as the reunion)

Early on, we investigated the possibility of having a videographer and determined it to be cost-prohibitive.  After the reunion, my long-time friend Lynn Van Wagenen told me he had videoed most of the events and that he would edit and reproduce copies at his expense.  We looked at the budget and found that we had just enough money remaining to provide copies to everyone who had attended the dinner.  I am sure that many class members did not know of Lynn's contribution.  So, belatedly, I want to give a shout-out to Lynn for making that happen.  If you did not get a copy or have lost yours it can now be seen online at the following link. https://youtu.be/r4fdIjLqypw
